Project Cyprus Tour
Our journey begins with a visit to the serene Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery, founded in the 12th century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This monastery is celebrated for its traditional wine production and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Next, we’ll stop at Throni Panagias, the resting place of Archbishop Makarios III, Cyprus’s first president. This spiritual and historical landmark is surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas. The highlight of our tour is the iconic Kykkos Monastery, one of Cyprus’s wealthiest and most famous monasteries. Established in the 11th century, it houses a revered icon of the Virgin Mary, believed to be painted by the Apostle Luke himself.
After a morning of exploration, we’ll take a relaxing lunch break in Pedoulas, a picturesque mountain village. Savor traditional Cypriot dishes bursting with local flavors while enjoying the serene mountain ambiance. Our final stop is the charming Omodos Village, home to the historic Timios Stavros Church (Holy Cross Church). This ancient church is said to house a relic of the True Cross. After your visit, enjoy some free time to wander the cobblestone streets, browse local shops, or simply soak in the traditional Cypriot atmosphere.
